When you reach a certain threshold (explained below) those points are converted to cash or cryptocurrency and send to you by your preferred method of transfer. You can see your ranking at any point by checking the leaderboard or at the navigation bar.
(all numbers are for example only and subject to change):
We allocate a percentage of UpVoteNation’s monthly revenue (currently set at 12%) to be paid out to our community monthly. The payment will be proportional to the points held by all members and it will be paid out to the members with sufficient points to meet the payment threshold requirement. Points never expire, so member that did not meet the threshold will have their points carry over to the following month.
UpVoteNation’s revenue is currently generated by display advertisement placed on the site on a pay-per-click or pay per display basis. So please be sure to support our advertisers and visit their site! As we add more sources of revenue to the site we will communicate with our community. If you have any ideas please email us at email@example.com. We would love to hear from you.
UpVoteNation points never expire and your points will continue to accumulate until you reach the minimum threshold for payment currently set at $500.00 (it will change as the site revenue and the number of members increases.)
Let’s assume UpVoteNation’s revenue is $100,000 this month.
12% of that revenue goes to the community, so $12,000 would be available for distribution.
The community is made up of 5 members: Mike has 500 points, Elly has 300 points, John has 100 points, Jennifer has 100 points and David has 20 points. Let’s start with David:
David’s 20 points are not enough to put him over the payment threshold (this is because David has 20 points out of a total of 1,020 total points, or 1.96%, and 1.96% of $12,000 is less than the $500 threshold.) So David will keep his points this month and will not convert it to cash. Since David will keep his points this month we exclude his points from the calculation and move to the next lowest point total.
Jennifer has 100 points, now that we excluded David, the remaining points available for distribution this month is 1,000 (1,020 total points – 20 David’s points). That means that Jennifer has 10% of the total available points (100/1,000). Jennifer would get $1,200 (10% x $12,000).
Based on the same calculation we did for Jennifer, John would also receive $1,200, Elly would receive $3,600, and Mike would receive $6,000).
Mike, Elly, John, and Jennifer converted their points to cash, so their point balance would be reset to zero for the following month. Since David did not get a check his points balance will remain at 20 and he will have a head start on the group.

Blogs are different from News and videos because they are unique content created on UpVoteNation by our community and we recognize that the creation of new content takes significantly more effort that sharing or previously created content. At the same time, we want to incentivize the creation of engaging and unique content that is relevant to the broader community. With that in mind, we set up the following point structure for blogs. Creating a blog does not earn members any points, this is to avoid the creation of content simply for the sake of earning points. However, as opposed to news and videos where you get one point for a view and 1 point for like (video), for blogs you get 2 points for each view and 3 points for each like, for up to 5 points per user that reads your content. This will ensure that popular blogs will be the highest point generating media on UpVoteNation. As you develop followers on the site you can earn a substantial amount of points with your blogging activity.
Bits, like blogs, are different from News and videos because they are unique content created on UpVoteNation by our community. You currently earn 1 point for each unique view of your bit and 1 point for every like.
As we add other media to the site we will be updating this page to get you informed.
We will be conducting periodic audits to ensure that points were earned in a fair member and there has not been any abuse of the system. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to freeze or remove points from users deemed to have manipulated the system to gain an unfair advantage. These actions would, however, have no impact on the total payout and we will always pay 100% of the total due to our members. We just want to make sure we are paying the right members for the right reasons!Good luck!
